Dutch want main channels on smart TV app before cutting cord

Dutch consumers are more willing to switch to TV over the internet when the main public and commercial channels are available via apps on their smart TVs. Sixty percent said they would cancel their pay-TV plan if the RTL channels were available on their smart TV, and 57 percent if the NPO public channels have a smart TV app, according to research by the Telecompaper Consumer Panel. The survey conducted in September 2016 found 53 percent want the SBS channels before they would cancel. All the percentages were up slightly from the same survey a year earlier, at 51 percent for SBS, 59 percent
