Dutch watchdog mediates 55 cases for right to be forgotten

Since the European introduction of the 'right to be forgotten', the Dutch privacy watchdog Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (AP) has received demands from 155 people to help them to erase search engine results showing their names from the search engine. In most cases this concerned Google. In 50 cases, the AP mediated with Google and twice with Bing. In 37 cases, the AP managed to get the results deleted from the search engine. The right to be forgotten was introduced in July 2014, when the European Court of Justice judged that citizens have the right to be forgotten. In May 2016, the watchdog
