DVPT demands EU pursue end to roaming fees

DVPT, the German Association for Post, Information Technology and Telecommunications, reacted critically to recent speculation that the planned abolition of roaming fees in the EU will not take place. According to the association, this "lacks any logic" as all network providers have IP networks that reach beyond national borders and can build a Europe-wide and even worldwide technological platform. Therefore, holding back on waiving the fees, is a purely commercial consideration. DVPT considers this harmful to the economy in Europe. DVPT pointed out that the unrestricted use of mobile roaming
