E-Fiber plans fibre roll-out in Deurne

Tuesday 6 March 2018 | 11:15 CET | News

E-Fiber is interested in bringing fibre to the Dutch municipality of Deurne, both the built-up and outlying areas. The municipality has agreed to discuss the plan, which would not involve any connection fees for residents.

The mayor has proposed adapting the local permit rules to allow projects using ducts of more than 10km to work on a project-based budget. If the council approves the proposal later this month, the city will sign an agreement with E-Fiber, and the company can start a pre-marketing campaign. The operator wants at least 40 percent of residents signed up for services before going ahead with the network construction.
