German mobile operator E-Plus has connected to US carrier services provider iBasis' multiservice IP eXchange (IPX) network. Initially, E-Plus will use the enhanced network technology to send international voice traffic via this IPX connection to iBasis. Driven by the GSMA, IPX offers an alternative to the public internet and to the traditional TDM-based interconnection.
