E-Sim shipments forecast to double every year

New entrants and new sales and service models will drive e-Sim's impact on the mobile telecom market in the next 2 to 5 years, according to McKinsey. As a result of both the strong growth in the number of M2M and IoT devices and the development of consumer e-Sim specifications by the GSMA, the distribution of e-Sims is expected to outgrow that of traditional Sim cards over the next several years by a large margin. McKinsey projects that M2M e-Sim card shipments will rise by 95 percent a year between 2012 and 2022 to reach USD 5.4 billion in manufacturer sales in 2022. Over the same period,
