East Africa plans cross-border mobile money transfers

East African countries have resolved to launch a cross-border mobile money transfer service by the end of 2015, if full implementation of the One Area Network Agreement (OANA) succeeds. According to Kenya's ICT Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i, the ICT ministers from the region are now seeking approval from all respective central banks and treasury ministries to go on with the project, Capitalfm reported.
