Ebay supports Google's stance against EC antitrust probe

Ebay's chief executive John Donahoe has indirectly backed one of the central arguments of Google's defence against the European Commission's accusation of antitrust behaviour. "Yes ... We are a strong commerce competitor," Donahoe told the Financial Times, going on to note that the barriers between different areas of online commerce are breaking down. In its first response to the EC's charges of violating competition law, Google argued that that eBay and Amazon are strong competitors that haven't been harmed by its shopping results.
