EBU calls for EU law on net neutrality

The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has called on the EU to ensure net neutrality in the law. A resolution to that effect was adopted at the EBU's latest general assembly in Prague, during a session about the impact of technology on content distribution. EBU President Jean-Paul Philippot said that "without clear and strong rules, access to online-content risks becoming confined to walled gardens rather than widely available in open spaces." Net neutrality is an important principle in ensuring pluralism and freedom of speech in the digital era and will help stimulate innovation in Europe's
