EC announces European Broadband Awards winners

European Commissioner for the Digital Economy and Society Gunther Oettinger has announced the five winners of the 2016 European Broadband Awards competition, emphasising that the selected projects focused on innovative models of financing, cost reduction, affordability, competition or quality of service. The five awards were given to the UK RemIX project, the Wielkopolska Broadband Network in Poland, the Italian Net4all project, the Dutch FibreOptic project and the Austrian noGIG project.
