EC has no objection to market with 3-4 mobile players

European Competition Commissioner Joaquin Almunia has no objection in principle to a mobile telecoms market with three or four players, reports Reuters. He told German newspaper 'Handelsblatt' that the EU had no formal position on the number of providers, with some European markets having four or five players. KPN has recently agreed to sell is German mobile unit E-Plus to Telefonica, owner of the O2 network in Germany, resulting the number of German mobile network operators from four to three.
