EC prepares for single European telecom market

The European Commission will produce a series of reforms this year to support the foundations of a pan-European telecom market, Neelie Kroes, the EC vice president in charge of the digital agenda, told the Financial Times. The proposed measures will increase the attractiveness of cross-border consolidations through various forms of asset sharing for LTE and fibre deployment. They are intended to establish stable common conditions across the EU for competition, investment and growth, according to Kroes, who added that she was not in favour of a single European regulator.
