EC publishes draft proposal on NGA wholesale regulation

The European Commission has published its draft recommendation on regulating wholesale access to next-generation access networks for consultation with Berec. First outlined in July, the proposal focuses on ensuring equal access to new networks, while allowing a more flexible pricing of wholesale access than under the existing framework for copper networks. The EC said it has asked the Body of European Regulators in Electronic Communications (Berec), made up of national telecom regulators, to issue an opinion on the proposal, which it will will incorporate in the final decision.
