EC requests info on Amazon taxation in Luxembourg - report

The European Commission's directorate general for competition has sent a request for information to Luxembourg relating to Amazon's corporate tax arrangements to determine whether they comply with state aid regulations, an EU official told the Financial Times. Amazon's main European subsidiary, Amazon EU, is based in the Grand Duchy. Another official said fact-finding missions were underway with a number of EU member states as the department cracks down on 'sweetheart' tax deals.
