EC sets new deadline of 03 November to decide on UPC-Ziggo

Monday 25 August 2014 | 14:35 CET | News
The European Commission has set a new deadline of 03 November to decide on Liberty Global's proposed takeover of Dutch cable operator Ziggo. Earlier this month its investigation of the acquisition was suspended pending additional information from Liberty Global. The investigation has now resumed, and the new deadline was posted on the website of the EC's competition department. The takeover of Ziggo would see the merger of the country's two largest cable operators, as Liberty already owns the second-largest operator there, UPC Netheralands.
