EC telecom reforms could hold back IoT development - GSMA

Mobile operator lobby group the GSMA has warned that the proposed new Electronic Communications Code (ECC) currently being discussed could potentially hold back Europe's opportunity to lead in the Internet of Things (IoT) market, whose value in the EU is expected to exceed EUR 1 trillion in 2020. In a statement co-signed by the Alliance for Internet of Things Innovation (AIOTI) and Cable Europe, the industry bodies set out four key recommendations for change or clarification in the ECC. They suggest that regulations designed for internet access services and interpersonal communications
