Econet Lesotho allows airtime conversion to EcoCash

Wednesday 5 August 2020 | 13:00 CET | News
Econet Telecom Lesotho has introduced airtime conversion to the EcoCash wallet, Lestimes reported. Acting general manager for Econet services Makatleho Raphoolo said it first launched 'buy airtime with EcoCash' as a basic mobile money function in 2013 but could not complete the circle, as airtime conversion involves cash handling, which requires cautiousness. However, the company has been working with mobile money authorities to ensure that the introduction of airtime conversion to cash promotes the efficient operations of the payment system.
