Ecuador issued 27 licences to ISPs in 2013

Ecuador's Superintendence of Telecommunications (Supertel) said that last year, 27 operators obtained permission to provide internet services in the country. The new providers started operations in the provinces of Azuay, Chimborazo, Cotopaxi, El Oro, Esmeraldas, Guayas, Imbabura, Loja, Manabí, Pichincha, Sucumbíos and Zamora Chinchipe. Supertel also conducted controls of 37 new ISPs that obtained their permits between the second half of 2012 and the first half of 2013.
