EDPS raises 'serious concerns' over Microsoft IT contracts with EU bodies

The EDPS launched an investigation into the use of Microsoft products and services by EU institutions in April, a few months after the Dutch Ministry of Justice and Security confirmed that public authorities in the member states face similar issues. The Dutch study found that Microsoft collected, stored and sent to the US data on a large scale about the individual use of Office software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Microsoft subsequently agreed to change its practices by April 2019 and the EDPS has now called for such solutions to be extended not only to all public and private
