EE chooses Parallel Wireless backhaul for rural 4G rollout

US mobile network equipment company Parallel Wireless announced that UK mobile operator EE has chosen its LTE Access Controller (LAC) and Converged Wireless System (CWS) for backhaul in its rural 4G network rollout to over 1,500 communities across the UK. The rural micro network solution from Parallel Wireless does not rely on any wired broadband, and can connect communities of around 100 homes with just three or four base stations. The first community to be connected through trials of the new micro network technology is the small village of Sebergham, in Cumbria, which has 129 dwellings and
