
EE confirms 4G mobile service launch for 30 October

The CEO of UK mobile network group EE, Olaf Swantee, has confirmed that it will launch superfast mobile 4G and fibre broadband services on 30 October. Full details of the new services will be announced shortly. EE will launch 4G mobile services in 10 cities on 30 October, and will cover 16 cities (one third of UK population) by end-2012. Further towns, cities and rural areas will follow rapidly with coverage to reach 98 percent by 2014. EE's 4G services will be available on a number of handsets at launch including the iPhone 5, Samsung Galaxy SIII LTE, Nokia Lumia 920, Nokia Lumia 820, HTC One XL and the Huawei Ascend P1 LTE.
