EE in advanced talks to sell spectrum to 3 UK - report

Tuesday 21 August 2012 | 10:39 CET | News
Everything Everywhere is in advanced talks to sell part of its 1,800 MHz spectrum holdings to rival 3 UK, reports the Financial Times. The operator is required by the EC to sell the spectrum after the merger of Orange and T-Mobile in the UK. The deal would give 3 UK control of spectrum that can be used for 4G mobile broadband services, potentially at a lower cost than bidding against rivals in the forthcoming 4G spectrum auction. Those with knowledge of the talks warned the deal had not been finalised, but one added that an agreement was 'imminent'.
