EE loses High Court challenge to Ofcom spectrum decision

Wednesday 31 August 2016 | 21:37 CET | News
BT Group company EE has lost a High Court action to block an increase in fees for radio spectrum, reports The Telegraph. The company had sought a judicial review of Ofcom's decision to hike the cost of airwaves. As a result, EE now faces licence fees of around GBP 75 million a year for radio spectrum allocated in the 1990s, a 3-fold increase on the current price. Mobile operators argued that the increase could result in higher prices for consumers and less network investment.
