EE plans vigorous response to 'surprising' lawsuit from 3 UK

BT-owned UK mobile operator EE said it was surprised by 3 UK's recent lawsuit claiming that it failed to provide sufficient access to its 3G infrastructure, a measure imposed by European Commission regulators when Orange UK merged with T-Mobile UK. An EE spokesperson told Mobile News, "We are surprised that Three has taken the step of issuing proceedings, as we are in active discussions with them. We strongly reject the allegations, and we will contest them vigorously." At the time of the 2010 merger, EE and 3 agreed for the latter to gain access to 3,300 of the former's 3G towers. According
