EE seeks spectrum licence changes for emergency network

EE has asked Ofcom for changes to its mobile licence to support its delivery of the emergency services network based on its LTE network. Ofcom opened a public consultation on the proposed changes. EE has asked for a variation of its 2,100 MHz licence to permit the use of LTE technology in the unpaired frequencies 1899.9 to 1909.9 MHz, giving it another 10 MHz. It also wants a variation of its 800 MHz/2.6 GHz and 1,800 MHz licences to permit the use of mobile transmit frequencies to connect additional temporary base stations to its network in the 800 MHz and 1800 MHz bands for use as gateways
