EE set to win emergency services network contract - report

Wednesday 28 October 2015 | 10:42 CET | News
The UK Home Office is understood to be close to finalising a deal with EE for the new Emergency Services Network (ESN) contract, reports The Telegraph newspaper citing unnamed Whitehall sources. An announcement is expected shortly. EE will host the network on its existing 4G mobile infrastructure, with the network ready for use by emergency services from mid-2017. The current Airwave network is currently used by around 300,000 fire crews, police and paramedics and is scheduled to be switched off in 2020.
