EE to start using 800 MHz spectrum, extends VoLTE trial

EE is set to start using the 800 MHz spectrum purchased in the 2013 4G spectrum auction. In an interview with Telecoms.com, EE's of Network Services and Devices, Tom Bennett, said that its focus from launch was to cover as much of the UK as possible with 1800 MHz spectrum. He said that EE's 4G network had now reached 93 percent population and more than 75 percent indoor coverage, and that the 800 MHz spectrum will now help to increase these figures, complementing the 1800 base layer.
