Eir is panning to sell almost half of its fibre network in Ireland, in a deal that could raise more than EUR 1 billion, reports the Irish Times.
Eir plans to spin off its fibre business into a separate JV, with a partner taking a stake of 49 percent. Lazard has been appointed to advise on a possible deal, with feelers understood to have been sent out to potential buyers. Eir is understood to be seeking inward investment to accelerate its fibre network roll-out. It is expected to retain control of fibre roll-out, service delivery and network maintenance in any deal.
