Elisa's automation efforts curb spending and lead to external sales

Monday 12 March 2018 | 13:09 CET | News
Internal automation has enabled Finnish operator Elisa to rein in spending, according to an article on the Lightreading portal. Elisa has been automating some radio systems, including base station integration, configuration and testing, and it runs its grids with the same size of workforce as in 2007, despite a 20-fold growth in mobile data volumes in six years, VP Telco Efficiency Business Kirsi Valtari told the portal. Elisa is now selling its automation capabilities to other operators, starting last month with Romania's RCS & RDS.
