Enet completes national backhaul network

Thursday 19 January 2017 | 15:59 CET | News
Irish operator Enet said it's completed its fibre backhaul network, connecting its Metropolitan Area Networks (MANs) around the country into a national telecommunications platform. The backhaul project brings the total investment undertaken by Enet since it was acquired in late 2013 by Granahan McCourt Capital to over EUR 100 million. The national backhaul network, which is now live and fully operational, includes over 3,700 km of high-capacity-fibre-count cabling and connects 55 towns such as Ballina, Roscommon, Tralee and Kilkenny.
