Enisa calls for more research on economic cost of cybercrime

The finance, ICT and energy sectors endure the highest costs from cyber attacks, according to a systemic review of studies on the impact of security incidents on critical infrastructure by the EU network security agency Enisa. Its review found that it is difficult to find a common standard for evaluating the economic cost of such incidents. However, one of the common findings of the studies was that these three sectors have the highest costs for dealing with cybersecurity incidents. The most common types of cyber attack for the financial and ICT sectors are DoS/DDoS and malicious insiders,
