Equinix, Telecity offer concessions for merger approval

Equinix and Telecity have submitted concessions to the European Commission in order to gain competition clearance for their proposed merger. The data centre operators said the European Commission has entered a period of market testing based on the commitments proposed. As a result, the deadline for a decision on the deal is extended to 13 November. Equinix said it sees a good prospect that the EC will accept the conditions proposed and approve the merger. If so, the deal can still close in line with original guidance of H1 2016. Equinix first announced in May an agreement to acquire Telecity
