Ericsson enables voice calls for wearables

Ericsson said it released a new network functionality to enable multi-SIM for voice calls and is deploying it in more than 10 operator networks. A number of mobile smartwatches with a mobile phone number support the new feature, Ericsson said. The voice calling capability is enabled in new mobile-enabled wearables that include VoLTE capabilities, and with standard SIM-cards or software embedded SIM-cards. These devices can connect to the mobile network without having to tether via a smartphone. Moreover, if they are designed with the multi-SIM call capabilities towards the operator's mobile
