Ericsson expands 5G range with standalone software, edge virtualisation infrastructure, massive MIMO radios

Ericsson said it is bringing out new software and hardware to support 5G deployments. Its standalone New Radio (NR) software enables fast response times and 5G coverage extension, and its new high-capacity Massive MIMO radios can improve 5G performance and coverage in a cost-effective manner, it said. A new edge product for distributed cloud services can meet user demands for high-bandwidth, low-latency applications, it added.
