Ericsson, Intel partner on software-based video processing

Ericsson and Intel have announced at IBC plans to work together to develop software-based solutions from the data centre for the media industry. The partnership will combine Ericsson's products in video processing, mobility and cloud infrastructure, alongside Intel's compute, storage, and networking technologies, according to a blog posting by Elisabetta Romano, head of TV and Media at Ericsson, and Jim Blakley, General Manager of the Visual Cloud Division at Intel. The two will work on developing cloud-centric media infrastructure to help accelerate the delivery of virtualized media
