Ericsson, MTS to deliver mobile broadband for World Cup football fans at tournament in Russia

Ericsson and Russian service provider MTS teamed up to provide mobile broadband for hundreds of thousands of football fans attending the upcoming global soccer tournament in Russia, through Europe's largest deployment of Massive MIMO (Multiple Input, Multiple Output) to date. Fans will be able to enjoy higher data speeds in seven of the 11 tournament cities thanks to the installation of Ericsson AIR 6468, the industry's first 5G New Radio-capable radio, at over 40 sites.
