Ericsson, Qualcomm report says EU mobile strategy failing

A report commissioned by Ericsson and Qualcomm has suggested that Europe is falling behind other regions in the use of mobile technology to benefit businesses and consumers. The report conducted by idate said the decline in revenue in recent years at mobile operators "appears to be due to policy decisions aimed at maximizing short-term consumer benefits at the expense of long-term investment incentives". According to the market researcher's data, this strategy is "backfiring", as the lower revenues deter MNOs from investing, which in turn delays the roll-out of networks and the adoption of
