Ericsson, Thales to deploy LTE private networks at French nuclear plants

Energy group EDF has chosen Ericsson and Thales to bring mobile broadband connectivity to its French nuclear sites. Under the 'Connect' project, a pilot has already been launched at EDF's Blayais plant, with the roll-out scheduled to continue at a rate of two to four new sites per year. The two partners said that the new network infrastructure has been tailored to EDF's specific needs, for example with the integration of cyber security as a key element in each step of the deployment.
