Ericsson to acquire Polish software developer Ericpol
Ericsson concluded a preliminary agreement for the acquisition of Ericpol's operations in Poland and Ukraine. Ericpol is a software development company within telecommunications and has been a supplier to Ericsson for over 20 years. Ericsson has been its largest customer by far.

Approximately 2,000 employees will join Ericsson. The acquisition is expected to take place during the first quarter of 2016, pending customary regulatory approvals, among other things.

With the intended acquisition of Ericpol's operations in Poland and Ukraine, Ericsson said it secures well integrated software development competence within radio, cloud and IP to enable business continuity. Ericpol also brings ICT capabilities markets for information communication and industry verticals such as automotive, automation, banking, healthcare and administration.

Once this acquisition is finalised, Ericsson will have over 2,500 employees in Poland. No financial details of the takeover were disclosed.

Polkomtel, Ericsson test 450 Mbps LTE

Polkomtel and Ericsson jointly conducted a test of tri-band carrier aggregation over LTE-Advanced and reached up to 450 Mbps download speeds.
