Ericsson to help Verizon launch 5G in more markets

Ericsson has expanded its 4G partnership with Verizon to new markets in the US. The extended cooperation means Ericsson will bring its 4G equipment to the new areas, as both companies prepare for the jump to a 5G ready platform. Ericsson will provide its 4G Ericsson Radio System, its latest baseband and dual band radios, and a system for widescale high-capacity deployment. This system will be software upgradeable to 5G and provide CAT-M and NB-IoT for Massive Internet of Things use cases, as well as network capacity enough for industry.
