Ericsson unveils 300 Mbps indoor picocell

Ericsson has unveiled an indoor picocell supporting 300 Mbps LTE with carrier aggregation. The device the size of a tablet supports ten spectrum bands, including concurrent multi-standards such as LTE, WCDMA and Wi-Fi. Operators can control and update the device remotely with software activation of frequencies, bands and features. The RBS 6402 picocell can be installed using existing ethernet for power and connectivity and be network-live within 10 minutes, Ericsson claims.
