Eritel completes service expansion

The Eritrean Telecommunication Corporation (Eritel) has increased the number of telephone lines available to 55,000, the ministry of information announced. Old equipment has been replaced with new systems in Keren, Massawa, Mendefera, Dekemhare, Adi-Keih, Barentu, Tessenei, Assab and Ginda. The mobile network can provide service to about 400,000 customers with a view to expanding mobile service across the nation. A server that can provide mobile service to 1 million customers has also been installed so as to meet the growing demand. There are currently over 198,000 customers for the mobile
