ESA opens up access to images, videos, data

The European Space Agency (ESA) has announced the adoption of an Open Access policy for content such as still images, videos and selected sets of data. Although the agency has shared vast amounts of information, imagery and data with scientists, industry, media and the public over the past two decades, it now has now decided to release more content under the Creative Commons IGO licencing scheme. As a result, ESA images and information can now be widely used on sites such as Wikipedia and its media repository Wikimedia Commons. The ESA trialled the use of the Creative Commons licences in
