ESA successfully launches two more Galileo satellites

The European Space Agency (ESA) has announced the successful launch of the seventh and eighth satellite in the EU's flagship Galileo navigation system. The deployment gives fresh impetus to the project after the setback suffered last August when two satellites were launched into the wrong orbit. The two new Galileo satellites were launched on 27 March from Europe's Spaceport in French Guiana aboard a Soyuz rocket. They reached their intended orbit close to 23,500 km above the earth around 3 hours and 48 minutes after liftoff, said the ESA in a statement. "The deployment of the Galileo
