ESPN sues Verizon over Custom TV package

ESPN filed a lawsuit against Verizon over the operator's new cheaper TV bundles, claiming it violates their carriage agreement. The Verizon Fios Customer TV packages offer customers a smaller bundles of channels plus optional channel packages. Several networks protested, including ESPN, NBC and Fox. An ESPN spokesperson told the Washington Post that the disagreement was not primarily about money, but about sending a message that cable partners can't "unilaterally change deals" without permission. A spokeswoman for Verizon said the company was "well within our rights under our agreements" to
