Ethiopian Communication Authority seeks bids for new telecom licences by 22 June

The Ethiopian Communications Authority (ECA) has invited expressions of interest (EOI) for two new telecommunications licences. It said it would proceed with privatisation and break the state monopoly in the sector. Issuing two new licences to telecommunications companies, in addition to the existing licence held by Ethio Telecom, is part of the government's homegrown economic reform agenda to introduce competition to the sector.
