Etisalat Nigeria denies selling pre-registered SIM cards

Etisalat Nigeria has denied allegations that it was selling pre-registered SIM cards to the public. The operator said that knowing the security implications and the huge cost such an activity could create if discovered by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), it would be foolhardy for any operator to take such a risk, the Vanguard reported. The company, through its Vice President Regulatory and Corporate Affairs, Ibrahim Dikko dismissed media reports that Etisalat agents are selling pre-registered SIM cards in some parts of the Lagos metropolis.
