Etisalat offers money service to Cote D'Ivoire businesswomen

Monday 24 February 2014 | 13:28 CET | News
Etisalat Group has launched the Weena initiative through its Moov subsidiary in Cote D'Ivoire to encourage entrepreneurship and financial autonomy for women in rural African communities, after its successful launch in both Benin and Togo. By joining Weena, women build a savings plan for themselves and for the community they belong to. After each phone call made, savings are automatically cumulated on an individual mobile money account that is open free of charge. This virtual money can be exchanged at merchant outlets against food or primary goods and services in rural Africa.
