EU 5G industry group to launch on 17 December

Wednesday 4 December 2013 | 20:38 CET | News
The EC will formally launch the EU 5G Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) association on 17 December, reports Total Telecom. This is part of a long-term strategy to develop next-generation mobile technology. Speaking at the Total Telecom Festival in London, Bernard Barani, deputy head of the European Commission's DG Connect division, said that this unit would work over the coming year to turn the 5G PPP into a community as the EC pushes forward with the research phase of 5G development. This research phase is expected to last a minimum of two years.
