EU committee approves resolution against Privacy Shield

The European Parliament's civil liberties committee has approved a resolution saying the EU's 'Privacy Shield' agreement with the US is inadequate. The resolution states that the Privacy Shield, which lays out the terms for commercial transfers of personal data between the EU and US, does not provide sufficient privacy protection to comply with the Charter of Fundamental Rights and the new EU data protection rules. The full European Parliament will vote on the resolution in April. The vote comes ahead of the first full review of the agreement this summer. In a statement Civil Liberties
